Naia Izumi

I met Naia in Los Angeles. It was on day two of this years Echo Park Rising. Strolling along with the crowds, bar hopping to hear all this new and buzzed about music from all over the LA area... I came to a sudden stop. People must have thought i was crazy for stopping like a mad woman in the middle of the street, but i didnt care. I heard something that needed my full attention. As I got closer to the sound there she was, sitting on a small amp, guitar in hand playing for the crowds that rushed by.

"pay it forward" right after performing, Naia gave all her money to a homeless man.

I recognized this girls spirit and soul immediately. She was playing from her heart and she was fucking amazing.

I stood there for the rest of her set. It was beautiful, raw and honest. After leaving Los Angeles, i couldn't stop thinking of the street musician with the unique style. She was the best performer I saw play that weekend, and it was on the streets of Hollywood. I had to go back and talk with her, so a few weeks later me met up.

Naia and I walked around Hollywood, talked in a super loud restaurant, talked music and LA life. We went out with her that evening to watch her play again.

This is Naia Izumi, and here is a piece of her story:

Please go and support Naia!
